Association of Chimborazo producers of medicinal plants

JAMBI KIWA produces, transforms and markets medicinal plants, aromatic herbs and spices. Located in Riobamba, in the Chimborazo Province, Jambi Kiwa is comprised of over 600 producing families from 63 communities. 80% of members are women. Their fields are at altitudes ranging from 400 to 4.200 m above sea level.

The business has over 50 plant species to offer, available in various forms: freshly picked, dehydrated, chopped, granulated, powdered and as a value-added end product (e.g. aromatic infusions and cosmetic products)

Products offered

Product line, raw material:

  • Dehydrated product, in boxes of 5 or 10kg or in plastic bags
  • Chopped, powdered or granulated plants in 20 to 30kg polypropene bags with polyethylene wrapping

Processed product line:

  • 8 medicinal formulations, each consisting of a blend of 10 to 20 different types of herbs. Main actions: weight loss, diuretic, expectorant, antiparasitic, bile-stimulating, disinfectant, nerve-soothing, liver-restoring. Available in 35g bags or boxes containing individual tea bags.
  • We also offer herb shampoo, oils, ointments, valerian extract and dragon's blood.

Phytotherapy laboratories, tea packaging plants, health-food shops, and participating markets.
