In the case of cultivation, disease and plague control is accomplished by means of integrated cultivation and crop rotation. This eliminates the use of pesticides, thus preserving the environment and obtaining an ecological raw material. Harvesting is done at the optimal time, to assure the best quality and the highest quantity of active ingredients in the raw material. The organizations that produce our raw materials are constantly improving their cultivation and harvesting processes and pay much attention to how to improve quality, sustainability, efficiency, and yields. The wild collection of plants is done in native forests of the Andean, Amazon and coastal region. To assure that the recollection is done in a sustainable manner the organizations manage the collection plans of each product. The producer organizations have an extension of 800,000 hectors available for the cultivation of these types of plants. Actually, of this total, they use a quantity of 300 to 400 hectors for the production of medicinal and aromatic plants. For the recollection of plants, the organizations use 650 hectors of primary Andean forest and 800.000 hectors of Amazon forest.
